Name:Akusui Namoto
Aliases:Lee (Fire Nation), Jung (Earth Kingdom), Ni Po (Air Nomads)
Birthday: December 21
Nation of Birth:Northern Water Tribe
Gender:Male
Age:26
Element: Water Bender
Appearance [/i]
Appearance:Akusui’s hair is black in color and of medium short length. It is cut evenly all around in a rough pattern not unique to any of the four nations. His eyes are a light brown and his skin is a deep tan. He is tall for a water tribe member and slim. His build is that of a swimmer, muscles that are not strong but are at the peak of condition. Outside of ‘required’ areas his body appears hairless.
Clothing:Akusui never wears armor since it impedes his bending though he does have a set of colored cloths for each nation so he can blend in more easily. He has the blue and white style clothing of the Water Tribe, the earth tones for the Earth Kingdom, the reds and oranges of a Fire Nation and the yellows of the Air Nomads.
Even with the different colors the styles are very similar. Outside of the extra layers required for the Water Tribe, his clothing is made from light cotton, cotton slacks, sandals, and a slightly oversized shirt. If someone is in the know they would notice the subtle embroidery of lotus blossoms along the hem of each of his sets of clothing.
Weapon of Choice: Two gourds of water on his belt.
Bending Abilities:
Akusui is advanced in the offensive and defensive uses of icebending and is moderately skilled in the use of waterbending for defensive and offensive uses. He has nearly no skill at all in healing with waterbending and is currently working on his own unique style of waterbending involving fine ice particles.
Inner Glance [/i]
Personality:Akusui is overall, a nerd, he loves reading and researching. This doesn’t mean though he is unaggressive or unable to defend himself. He is normally pretty chill around new people as a way to try and go around undetected since in current times he would most likely be tossed in jail as a spy. As a member of the White Lotus though he always sees people as a person before a member of a nation and believes that knowledge should always be passed on and not held by a single nation.
Once he knows he can trust a person though he will warm up into a normal funny person.
Fear(s):
-All out war destroying everyone
-Being caught as a water tribe member in another country and imprisoned
-Having to fight actively in the war
Hobbies:
-Snow/Ice Sculpting
-Reading
-Researching new ways to use waterbending
History [/i]
History:Akusui lived a pretty sheltered life in the Northern Water Tribe. His father was a master waterbender and taught classes to other kids in the tribe. Even before he knew he could bend he was reading the books on how waterbending worked. These books went more in depth than just the movements and actually tried to describe how benders could bend while others couldn’t.
Because his father was so well known as a master waterbender, he had no real friends in the tribe. People were nice to him so they could stay in the good graces of his father but he never really got close to people. He held a good and loving relationship though with his father and mother.
He began to show signs of being able to bend around age 13. At this time his father began to teach him water bending. He didn’t learn faster exactly then other students. He progressed like any other, but he had a knack of picking up the more obscure methodology behind the bending like how a shift of the hips in this stance could drastically change how a move could work.
At age 23 though he greatly angered his father by not taking a bride and instead wanting to travel the warring world and create new waterbending arts. His father tried to tell him how he could do it all at the north pole but Akusui knew differently. To stay in one place long stagnates the pool of knowledge, you need to stir it up by seeing other cultures point of view on it.
Coincidently this is also the time his mother, a great and wise women got him inducted into the Order of the White Lotus as a junior member. He didn’t know that the society even existed before this, he just thought that his mom loved that old board game Pai Sho. Once he got in though he absolutely loved it. Though it did take him a while to learn the game enough to identify himself.
He didn’t have any rank, being at the most bottom rung but he was able to listen to the older members talk and could get their help on safe passage to other nations. This is how he got the many changes of cloths that let him pass off as a member of any nation.
The White Lotus was a society that believed in the free trade of knowledge and how not a single nation has rights to it. His mother got him inducted into the society because she could see the same ideas within her own son. She also felt that he could use all that the society offered to the best of his abilities. This was very true, he spent much of his time that wasn’t put aside listening to the older members, reading their texts. There were many great works of poetry and wisdoms written by a long dead member only referred to as Iroh of the Fire Nation.
It took him a full year to acquire all that he would need in his travels as well as getting a boat made that would not attract attention as clearly of the Water Tribe. Wood had to be sneaked in from the Earth Kingdom and instead of being hollowed out into a canoe cut into planks to build a small skiff.
During that year, he began to see the White Lotus’ stance on the current growing war. They did not try to actively stop it, it was not their place to influence politics though they did hope it stopped. Many individual members have helped refugees get away and there were many refugees in the group. They made it clear that they will help anyone in need and did not take a side in the war.
