Kasumi watched the skies darken while she listened to Rikku. Time was passing quickly though the voyage would be long still. Kasumi grabbed her pack taking out an extra bowl and spoon. She bent some of the soup into her bowl and warmed it up, enough that she could still eat it. "I do not mind. I am headed there in search of information on a person I am trying to locate" She responded. She was searching for at least slight evidence of the Avatar's existence.
She knew there was many people in this world and many places to search and she was only one person. Though she was only one person, she believed she could manage. She had the will and the confidence, now all it took was a little patience. She managed to discover Hama’s last remnants and learn her technique. She could accomplish finding some evidence of the Avatar, wherever she may lay.

Rikku lifted her hand from the water, turning her attention back to Kasumi. She tilted her head to the side, being even more curious as to who she might be looking for. She did not want to pry though, so she stayed quiet. Though the curiousness on her face was quite easy to see. "earth Kingdom... to find someone..."
Quickly shaking her head, she looked up towards the sky to see that it was darkening. Pulling her poncho a bit tighter around herself, she was hoping that it wouldn't rain. These were really the only clothes she had. Even if it did rain though, she didn't mind the rain. Rain was always peaceful and calming~! But when you were out in a boat in the middle of the ocean where you could freeze... well. Maybe not so much. After a moment, she removed her thoughts and looked to Kasumi. She had a thought... she had heard stories about ... about someone. Maybe this someone was who Kasumi was looking for?
"Kasumi um... do you.. believe the Avatar is .. still alive?"

Kasumi grabbed a blanket she had put aside and handed it to Rikku. "Yes, I believe the Avatar is still alive, Do you?" She answered in a warm tone. I could not just believe she died there was no evidence of that. They just said she vanished. That means there is a possibility she may be alive, She thought to herself before taking a bite of the soup. "What is your purpose in heading to the Earth Kingdom?" She suddenly asked.
She swirled her soup then continued to take spoonfuls from it until the bowl was clean. The ocean was calm and the motion of the boat had slowed. She took a deep breath of the sea air and gathered their bowls and cleaned them. Then she went to the vat of soup and dropped its temperature, to preserve the food. After she was done organizing the contents of the boat, she sat down and waited.

"Oh, thank you. I shouldn't get cold easily... I am from the north pole after all... " She laughed, wrapping the blanket around her shoulders. Oh it felt warmer already! How she missed the nice things like blankets and pillows... being on a boat with just supplies that she needed, that ran out... was a bit tiring. So a nice blanket was making her incredibly happy at the moment. At the mention of the Avatar, she had nodded. "Of course I think the Avatar is still alive. There's no ... trace of the person having died.... From the cycle the next Avatar is supposed to be a firebender, right?"
When Kasumi asked her why she was going to the Earth Kingdom, she had paused. Why ... was she going? She had smiled, closing her eyes before lightly shurgging. "To be honest I... am going there because it was the easiest place I could reach, so I thought. I've heard that the Earth Kingdom has places for refugees so.. I thought I might try looking. Though I don't know if it will be true, considering the war and all but it's definitely worth a shot! That and I can't reach any of the air temples by myself... "
Yeah, the Air Temples thus far have been able to stay out of the war. They haven't been associated with any nation, and have just been defending their own temples against attacks from the other nations. Perhaps there would be the best place to go... but really, how could she get there? She couldn't fly... so unless she found an airbender in the Earth Kingdom, the next best, and closest, place to go was the Earth Kingdom.

Kasumi smiled at herself as she listened to Rikku speak, she was so different from Fajra's aggressive nature. She had befriend a girl about Rikku's age in the fire nation. Each element had it's personality and it seemed to effect the bender's attitudes as will. She thought it was funny in a sense. "Yes, the avatar would be a firebender but I found no trace of her when I lived there", She answered Rikku. That where she had come from, the infamous fire nation.
The people were headstrong and sharp edged but some held their unique kindness. People judge them all as one grain of sand but they each held their own opinions and ideas. She had met many kind people, who would not think twice in helping another whether fire nation or air nomad.
She turned to Rikku and with curiosity asked,” You head to the Earth Kingdom to make a new home?" She desires to bend but there is no waterbending master in the Earth Kingdom to help her. How would she learn?, she discussed in her mind.

Rikku had smiled, closing her eyes and trying to spread her happy cheery nature. So the Avatar wasn't found in the fire nation, but that didn't mean the Avatar wasn't alive!! It might have meant he or she was just in another nation, trying to master the other elements! "Even if she may not be in the Fire Nation, its possible she may be in another nation mastering another element! Oh .. I mean..the Avatar may be a he. I don't know for sure but either way, I do think the Avatar is alive."
There also had to be a good reason as to why the Avatar was not helping in making peace in the war either. He or she was probably waiting for the right moment to end the war, or the right moment to strike at all four nations in a peaceful way and get each of them to stop fighting. She herself thought the war was started on false terms, and each nation just ...seemed to fall into line of attacking other nations. "Maybe just a temporary home but... yes, a home for now. I'll only use my bending when necessary, since I'm not really that good at it... and so I won't attract attention to myself."

Kasumi watched Rikku go into a cheery episode and could not help but smile at the girl while she rambled about the avatar. "It could be all of that but the important thing is to locate the avatar." She said while she closed her eyes. So I can aid her or him, She added in her head. She was still awake but she was in deep thought. It was a few days since she left the fire nation. She hoped Fajra was alright alone. She promise she would come back and when she did return to visit she would take her. Hopefully she would have all things she needed to do done.
She opened her eyes but remained silent. "Have you thought of finding a new master or going to the Southern tribe?" She suddenly asked. Rikku seemed like she really wanted to learn to waterbend, even seemed to need to. She understood the feeling it was part of their nature. She even consider later on, if she continued to accompanying her, to teach Rikku herself. Not yet though she still wanted to get to know the girl first.

Rikku looked up at the clouds once more, seeming to ponder over Kasumi's question. Had she thought of finding a new master? She never would have thought to go to the Southern Water Tribe... she would have been too afraid to travel that far alone. She felt like if she could make it to the Earth Kingdom then she'd be fine until ... the war was over. Traveling that far to the Southern Water Tribe by herself in a war... she wasn't that air headed! "Honestly I... didn't think I'd ever find a master. The day that... the master was accepting female students I accidentally overslept and missed the deadline. So I've learned how to heal but... bending I"m not so good at."
She shifted her body a bit, facing the water and looking down at her own reflection again. She let a smile slip onto her lips, putting her hands out above the water as it rippled slightly. She moved her right hand up, a small stream of water coming up from the ocean and forming into a ball. Rikku had immediately brought her other hand underneath the ball, not holding it but trying to keep it together. She held it in the form for about twenty seconds before it fell back into the water and Rikku laughed. "That's.. longer than I usually can hold it. As for traveling to the Southern tribe... I thought it was too dangerous to go that far alone, especially in my little canoe. With my airhead I would have gotten lost for sure trying to travel to the Southern tribe."

Kasumi observed the girl as she spoke before heading to the water. She started bending water into a small orb though as quick as it was made it collapsed. Kasumi went beside her and place her hand near the water. She used both hands in one fluid motion pulling an orb of water from the mass. She used one hand to keep the orb together and the other to keep in place. Her small motions and repositioning of her arms and hands seemed like dancing motions. Her body even readjust slightly to maintain the ball.
"Copy, me" She instructed Rikku. She could not help but to correct the girl's bending form. She continued to maintain the orb with small graceful hand motions, that followed and flowed with one another. Rikku seem to have potential though she needed someone to teach her. She never understood the Northern Water Tribe' s ideology in having only men know waterbending.

Rikku blinked as Kasumi walked over to her and made an orb of water just like she did. Kasumi's orb stayed together, though, and actually seemed like a smooth round orb. When instructed to copy her movements, Rikku scrambled slightly before calming herself down and watching Kasumi's movements rather closely. It seemed like they were dancing motions... and her movements were so smooth and fluid. Slowly taking her own stance, and a deep breath, she placed her hand near the water. She copied Kasumi's movements, making a fluid motion and pulling an orb of water from the water, using both of her hands and small motions to keep the orb floating. A smile grew on Rikku's lips, looking to Kasumi and then back to her orb.
Sure, it wasn't perfect and smooth like Kasumi's, but at least she was keeping it together this time instead of it falling apart on her. She couldn't help but let out a laugh. She was so excited that she finally got at least an orb to stay together! "Wow, thank you Kasumi! So it.. was just with my movements. I have to.. be more fluid and.. not as rigid. Not as nervous about it either, because then I'll for sure mess up the movement."

Kasumi continued her slow graceful motions while she watched Rikku attempt once again to bend. She did the same moments managing to create a ball. Then she continued to the motions as fluid as she possibly could to keep her orb. She was so excited it made her smile. She continued to hold her orb in place, she wanted Rikku to get use to handling the water before they went any further.
"Maybe, I can teach you myself, Rikku", She mentioned halfway through the hour that was passing. Rikku was doing well for a beginner. Her orb was not perfect but it was getting there. She had potential, she truly did. "Your doing good, Rikku", She commented. She did a few slow gentle motions until she stood in front of her. "Just follow my motions and you will have that orb perfect in no time," She added.

Rikku stumbled as she heard Kasumi mention that she could teach her, her ball of water falling and the water splashing half into the boat and the other back into the ocean. She put her hands over her mouth, letting out a mumbled oh no. "I.. I'm sorry Kasumi... " She swallowed lightly, looking to Kasumi somewhat shyly before mimicking her movements and moving the water she dropped in the boat back into the ocean.
It wasn't that she did not want Kasumi as a master, it was just that it was ...something she had never thought about. She thought she would always end up teaching herself, or not learning bending at all. She hesitated for a moment, taking in a breath. "I'm.. It is not like I don't want you as a teacher, Kasumi. I'd actually really, really like it! I just.. I don't know if I'm cut out to be a bender." She laughed, closing her eyes. She was trying to hide that she was getting upset. Honestly, she didn't think she was worthy enough to learn waterbending. When she could have helped save her mother... helped her father in getting the firebenders off the ship... yet she just stood there scared and crying. Clinging to her mother's leg as her mother was burned. That's why she took up healing... so she could cheer others up... help heal them... but even then she had little confidence in her abilities.
"I'm good at healing though, really~! So.. I'm okay with that... I don't think I'd be a good waterbender..."
